The famous 'Floating Cloud Maple' appears almost ghostly from a distance. In the first couple of years, 'Ukigumo' only shows green leaves, but by the third year a dazzling stippling of pink and white appear on the green backdrop. The intense pink spring foliage fades to green and white in the summer. Even so, the foliage is very showy because of the significant white speckles that adorn the leaves. In addition, it is a fairly compact grower that will not outgrow a small space for an extended period of time. Zone 5 - 7.
